Funérailles de Lizz - 2026
Associated Music: What Could Have Been (Arcane)
Excerpt from the text:
Drak remains motionless for several long seconds, his face exposed to the firey twins , then carefully lais his tiny sister on her bed of dry wood. He whispers a few words to her, which no one can hear, places his hand on the veil that separates them, and kisses the shape of her forehead. After a minute of agony, he leaves her in peace.
The warrior descendes the steps, looking at no one except the compassionate rattataki who offers him the torch, and takes it. With a determined step, he returnes to the funeral pyre and brings the flames close to its base. Xaash closes her eyes for a moment and holds her breath, as if seeking a few seconds of privacy and peace in this funeral. She fights to remain as dignified as he is. She doesn't know where he finds the strength, he who sufferes a hundredfold. Yet, remaining attentive to the silence, she doesn't hear the sound of the flames consuming the wood. When she opens her eyes again, the torch hasn't yet touched the structure. Drak remains frozen, his arm outstretched downwards, unable to act. His entire body is a statue, but his hand trembles subtly, his fist gripping the torch's handle. Jahnelthra's hand also tightens again against Xaash's wrist. He'll succeed, they tell each other in unison.
When Drak regains his strength and his courage, he releases the kiss of fire and takes three steps back. The pyre bursts into flames in an instant. Legs slightly apart, the zabrak lets the torch's pommel slide from the palm of his hand and lets its flames drown in the sand.
