'Would you send me to school ?' he inquired craftily.
'Yes.'
'And then to an office ?'
'I suppose so.'
'Soon I should be a man ?'
'Very soon.'
'I don't want to go to school and learn solemn things', he told her passionately. 'I don't want to be a man. O Wendy's mother, if I was to wake up and feel there was a beard !']

I just finished reading Peter Pan (1911) by James M. Barrie, and unsurprisingly, I found myself deeply connected to the themes explored. Peter's fear of being abandoned by his friends as they grow up, but also Hook's fear of death, Tinker Bell's jealousy, … A simple children's story, but with a touching depth, especially for an adult who refuses to silence his inner child.
